Hi. How significant is eye colour when looking at Tawny Frogmouths? My
previous experience with them just north of Brisbane was always eyes of yellow
/ orange. Twice now in central Qld, we've had excellent close views of Tawnys
where the eye colour was a definite strong bright red - 3 near Moura and 1
north of Mitchell. At the site near Moura, the red was clearly seen in daylight
and at night with a torch, the Mitchell one only with a torch. Do the various
races have different eye colour? Any other ideas??
