Preliminary Call for Papers

Knowledge representation and reasoning is a core research area in artificial intelligence. This research has provided deep insight into computational aspects of knowledge and formal aspects of commonsense reasoning. Besides its impact on artificial intelligence, knowledge representation has also contributed to the wider field of computer science. While the central issues have changed over the years, new open problems arise to challenge the best minds. As we begin the new millennium it is time to take stock of what has been achieved and set a course for the coming years.

The Australian Knowledge Representation Conventicle will: This will be achieved through invited addresses by outstanding researchers in the field, and selected paper presentations.
Accordingly, we solicit original, unpublished, papers on all aspects of knowledge representation and reasoning. Papers will be subject to review and selected papers will be presented at the conventicle along with a number of invited presentations.

Paper Submissions

Papers should be no longer than 12 pages including all tables, figures, and references but excluding a cover page. Fonts should be at no smaller than 12 point. Each submission must include a separate cover page which should describe:
  1. Title of the paper with an abstract of no more than 500 words;
  2. A few keywords giving a clear indication of topics;
  3. Author names with affiliations, addresses, and phone/fax numbers;
  4. Email address of the contact author.
Submissions should be sent to the Conventicle Chair either by email (in postscript or pdf format) to abhaya@ics.mq.edu.au or 4 hardcopies by post to:

Electronic submissions are preferred. Papers must be received by Monday, October 1, 2001. Late submissions will not be accepted.
