After receiving the donation, the Treasurer of UNSW & Study Abroad - Friends and U.S. Alumni, Inc. will mail a formal letter to the U.S. donor confirming that a donation has been received and that the full amount of the donation is tax deductible in the U.S. given the 501c(3) tax status of the company.

If the purpose of the donation is not specified, the letter from the treasurer will invite the donor to reply with information about the purpose of the donation. The funds will subsequently be transferred to UNSW Foundation in Australia, which will confirm with the Faculty or School that the full amount of the transfer has been deposited in the Foundation account.
