The School is active in a diverse range of research areas.
Researchers in the School are participants in Smart Services Cooperative Research Centre, an initiative of the Australian Government to encourage links between universities and industry, with partners Fairfax Digital, Sirca, Infosys and AARNet. Major work is in two areas: personalised recommender systems and service aggregation and delivery. More information on current projects can be found here.
The School also collaborates with the UNSW College of Fine Arts via the Centre for Interactive Cinema (iCinema). This Centre aims to foster research in various aspects of entertainment technology.
The various research themes in the School and some of the resarch group activities are described here.
The School's active research program is supported by students working for the PhD and Masters by Research degree programs.
