Speaking of Peregrines,
we were at the Brisbane Hilton on Friday afternoon.

Arriving about 2 pm we were were annoyed to find that we couldn't get
into our room for two hours, needing to prepare for a presentation I had
to make shortly after.

So we sat fuming in the 24th floor Executive lounge
watching the vista.

Our mood was quickly lifted
watching a pair of peregrines
working the thermals
getting closer and closer to us
and finally passing within 2 or 3 feet from us
(seperated only by the glass windows)
and grabbing their lunch off the 25th floor balcony
directly above us.

They turned and cruised away a few city blocks
settling on the roof of the MBF building
to feast.

wow! what could be better than that.

(that event was only topped by winning the convention
lucky door prize the next day, return business class air ticket to
Dallas!)

Happy Birding
