We drove into the picnic area just past the church heading to Sydney and stopped at the end of the short entrance drive. When we walked over to the water we had very clear close views of a Garganey. I thought I should send the sighting to the bird list because the bird guide indicated that it was unusual in southern Australia.

The time was between 12 and 1pm.

Cool. Any more details on this??? Where at Seaham Susan?

Returning from a weekend at Barrington Tops on Sunday (21 Sept) we
stopped at Seaham for lunch and saw a Garganey (my first). I have no
idea if this is a usual sighting for this area.
