Why is it that whenever a rare vagrant turns up we have an explosion of
not
very informative chatter about it?

If a vagrant is report please could:

1. People who are near-at hand continue to report on it if it continues
to
be seen
2. Everyone else either get on a plane to go and see it, or refrain from
comment (unless they have genuine information that would help, such as
knowledge of the sp in its normal range)

cheers

John L
