Origin of leg flag

Yesterday I relocated the Sharp-tailed Sandpiper that I referred to in
earlier emails.  This time the upper leg flag appeared to be black, not very
deep blue/green.  I was leading a BOCA outing and all of the 20 or so people
with me agreed it was black!!  This resolves the problem of where the bird
was banded - Chongming Dao in China.
