Another great trip to Mud Islands on Sunday, 25 February, although no
Southern Elephant Seal this year. Highlights were up to 9 Buff-banded
Rails, 5 Grey Plover, 20+ Great Knot, 30+ Red Knot, Black-tailed Godwit,
Pomarine Jaeger and 6+ Fairy Tern. Day was rather windy and the number of
birds was down on previous visits but we had a very low tide in the middle
of the day. Full bird list below.
