Published sightings for the week ending 28 Oct 2012.

Sun 28 Oct Emu Cnr Corin Road and Tidbinbilla Road
2 Emus observed foraging in paddock at the corner of Corin and Tidbinbilla Roads.

Sat 27 Oct Lewin's Rail Kellys Swamp & Jerrabomberra Wetlands, Fyshwick
Lewin's Rail (1) Heard calling near river, SW of 'Crake Alley'. Brief glimpse along river. Possibly second bird also heard calling

Fri 26 Oct Australian Pelican, Scarlet Honeyeater Kellys Swamp & Jerrabomberra Wetlands, Fyshwick
While looking for the immature male Scarlet Honeyeater this morning (still present) I observed 23 Australian Pelican on the Swamp.

Thu 25 Oct Scarlet Honeyeater Jerrabomberra Wetlands
[Immature] Male feeding in the Grevillia growing on the track between the carpark and the Bittern hide. Only photo is out of focus but shows the breast colour not fully developed and the brown in the wings.

Australian Little Bittern Kellys Swamp
1215 hrs. Female in Crake Alley, was apparently disturbed from reeds by an Intermediate Egret, seen as it flew about 10 metres, dropped into thick reeds, not found again.

Wed 24 Oct Red-capped Robin Campbell Park and environs
Red-capped Robin (2) male and female observed. Possibly holding a territory as they were in a simliar location on a previous visit. First time I have observed a female in Campbell Park.

Cicadabird (1) female calling high up an eucalyptus tree, also saw 2 Crested Shrike-tit

Mon 22 Oct Chestnut-rumped Heathwren Woodstock Reserve below Shepherds Lookout
Two birds heard; good views of one. In regenerating Callitris, as mentioned by PJ MIlburn 23 Sept 2012.
