Description:
Sending video sequence over wireless network with limited and varying bandwidth is a hot topic for video communication over wireless networks. Rate control and bit allocation are effective solutions in video coding to address the problems occurring in the video transmission. Meanwhile, using region-based video coding technologies also becomes a trend in supporting the rate control and bit allocation in video coding. In this project, you will have an opportunity to study the state-of-the-art technologies in video coding and transmission, and to implement some of the latest achievements we've got in this area. You are finally expected to be familiar with the latest H.264 video coding standard, to investigate the technologies used in sending H.264 packets over wireless networks. To participate in this project, good C/C++ programming skills will be very appreciated and you are also assumed to have some basic knowledge about networking.
