Description:
This projects seeks to develop an automated technique for smooth meshing of surfaces of tissues and organs using rational Bezier patches. Such meshing is required for finite element modeling and visualization applications currently being developed within GSBmE. 2D image slices from the Visible Human Project will be utilized to manually enter points lying on the surface of desired organs, generating a user-defined cloud of data points. This data will then be fitted to a 3D surface consisting of rational Bezier patches.
