Description:
This project is situated within the Goanna project at NICTA. This project develops a tool, also called Goanna, that is able to detect software bugs in C/C++ source code automatically. The tool itself it targeted at the developer, however, from a software quality assurance view point it would be useful to have additional software quality metrics. Aim of the project is to (1) survey existing software quality metrics (2) define suitable metrics to be used with the tool Goanna (3) define how to obtain derive these metrics either from information readily available or by introducing additional checks (4) define an architecture based on a distributed data base that allows for a real-time software metric view of a distributed software project, and finally (6) implement these metrics and (7) a GUI to access and visualise them.
