Description: |
UNSW's online systems currently do not understand program and plan requirements. This has some unfortunate consequences, such as needing to determine graduation status manually. It also means that MyUNSW will allow you to select courses, even if they are not relevant (and will not count for credit) to your degree. Clearly, this is not acceptable. This project aims to develop a system that encodes UNSW program rules and can offer advice to students about what courses you might take in order to complete your degree. This requires further development of the schema used for COMP3311 projects from 2002-2009 and development of algorithms that uses this schema and can take into account factors such as popularity of courses, student preferences, etc.
Comments: |
I expect a solid implementation early in Thesis B so that it can be properly evaluated.
