Description: |
This project is part of the lab's research on molecular pathways underpinning oxidative stress. Recently we surveyed Cys-based Zn ligation sites in solved protein structures and compiled a list of domains containing these sites from the Pfam library of Hidden Markov Models. Zinc is highly abundant in the brain, but its role is not well understood. The project aims to map RNA transcripts in the brain which encode proteins containing these Zn-binding domains using the Allen Brain Atlas. |
