Description: |
Faculty of Build Environment has a design workshop where about 20 pieces of equipment can be accessed by authorized students and staff. Currently, people who can access the workshop can basically switch any equipment he/she wants to use even some of them may be not allowed to turn on. A power control system based on UNSW student/staff cards a needed. The proposed system should be able to: 1. Read the staff/student card 2. Store the IDs of the authorized users for the equipment 3. Search the database to see if the user with the ID is authorized. If yes, show welcome message and connect the circuit for this equipment while the card is held in the reader, so the equipment can be powered on by pressing "ON" button. If no, show the error message. 4. System deactivate the machine if the card is removed. 5. Update the database by reading the file in the USB device (locally connected) or through the WiFi connection at the control centre. |
