Description:
The thesis project will aim at developing the circuit components to demonstrate the strong coupling of the spin of a single atom to the photons in a superconducting microwave resonator, as well as optimizing the software to control the quantum states of the atom’s spin. The aims of the project are the demonstration of a new functionality in spin-based quantum computing, where distant quantum bits, represented by electron spins, are coupled through a common microwave cavity mode.
