Description: |
Reducing the power consumption of embedded mobile systems becomes increasingly important. The previous research showed that memory consumes most of the power of embedded systems. To reduce the power consumption of memory, one approach is to divide the memory into a set of memory banks which can be independently set to different power saving modes. If a memory bank is not used in a time interval, we can set it to the standby mode in which the memory bank will consume much less power. In this project, you need to propose and implement efficient algorithms for dynamically setting each memory bank to a proper mode such that the power consumption is significantly reduced in embedded systems. |
