UNSW has a range of scholarships for commencing or currently enrolled  local and international  students.

Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (EIPRS) International Available to citizens of all countries (except New Zealand & Australian citizens & permanent residents) wanting to undertake a PhD or Masters by Research. $22,860

The EIPRS scheme is administered by the University and funded by the
Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).  

The EIPRS provides a tax-exempt living allowance and covers tuition fees, medical cover and visa charges (except costs related to visa health checks).

Selection for the EIPRS is based on academic merit and research potential. It is a highly competitive selection process, with recipients requiring outstanding undergraduate results and top academic references. Publications and research experience may also be used to improve a candidates ranking.

Faculty of Engineering Research Scholarship (FERS)

Available to applicants who are Australian or New Zealand citizens or who are permanent residents of Australia.

The FERS is administered and funded by the Faculty of Engineering.

Scholarships are being offered to outstanding PhD students for research programs starting in Session 1 and 2 of each academic year.

Applicants will be considered based on their application for APA/UPA.

Eligible for admission to UNSW as a research candidates within CSE or EET

Undertaking or proposing a research project aligned with NICTA’s Research Themes, Business Areas, Research Projects and supervisory capabilities

NICTA (National ICT Australia) provides a range of scholarships to support postgraduate ICT research primarily in the Schools of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Electrical Engineering & Telecommunications (EET)
at UNSW.

Supplementary Engineering Award (SEA)

Only made available to students who are in receipt of one of the following primary awards:

a. APA
b. APA (I)

The SEA is administered and funded by the Faculty of Engineering, and
is available to full-time local students undertaking PhD studies.

SEA recipients must continue to meet the eligibility requirements for their Primary Award, and are required to undertake up to six hours per week
teaching and/or assessment duties up to a maximum of 180 hours per year.

Tuition Fee Scholarship (TFS) International This scholarship is only available to students who are sponsored by their home country with a living allowance / stipend with a minimum value of $10,000 per annum. Remission of Tuition Fees  Varies

UNSW PhD Student Completion Scholarships are designed to enable PhD students in the final stages of their candidature, who have not received any scholarship or other financial support during their candidature, to spend uninterrupted time (up to 6 months) to complete their thesis.

UNSW/CSIRO Local Applicants must be local students undertaking full-time
PhD research in the area of information & communication technology (ICT).

Subject to Availability  Applications are open for CSIRO funded research scholarships within the Schools of Computer Science & Engineering. Successful applicants will be required to work closely with the CSIRO on a project that falls within one of their specified research areas. A stipend of approx $7,000 (tax free) per annum for up to 3 years with the possibility of a 6 month extension

It is expected that applicants for this scholarship will have applied or have been awarded an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) or equivalent.

Women in Engineering Research Award
