Scholarships for Research Area: Service Aggregation and Service Delivery FrameworkApplications close November 17, 2008 A number of PhD scholarships are now available for students commencing PhD study in 2009. The scholarships are offered by Smart Services CRC (Cooperative Research Centre), in the areas of service oriented computing. The projects investigate a wide-range of issues in service aggregation and service delivery (e.g., service management and governance, service reuse models, service support for end-users, service description, discovery and analysis). Driven by the real-world case studies from CRC industry partners such as SAP, Queensland Government and InfoSys, the projects offer excellent opportunities to apply, validate and advance service oriented technology. Scholarships are either top-up or full scholarships. Top-up scholarships provide a tax-exempt amount of $10,000 per year for three years plus $5,000 per year for travel and other expenses; this is in addition to any other scholarships you may hold (subject to the particular conditions of those scholarships). Full scholarships provide a tax-exempt amount of $25,000 per year for three years plus $5,000 per year for travel and other expenses. Smart Services CRC scholarships do not cover tuition fees, so international student holders of full or top-up Smart Services CRC awards will need some independent or other means of paying for tuition fees, and hence are recommended to concurrently apply for other scholarships. Applicants for Smart Services CRC scholarships do not need to be Australian citizens or permanent residents. Please contact Professor Boualem Benatallah for further details on how to apply.
