USING PuTTY TO SSH TO CSE
· You can access your CSE account from home using SSH.
· To connect using SSH from Windows, you need a program called PuTTY.
· PuTTYcan be found on the CSE homecomputing CD which can be purchased from CSE Help Desk OR can be downloaded from:
http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~homecomputing/
· Once you have PuTTY running on your home PC, you will see the following window:

STEP 1 - In the box below Host Name (or IP Address) enter the name of one of CSEs login server. If the lecturer for your subject has suggested you use a specific server, enter it here. Otherwise you should use login.cse.unsw.edu.au to be assigned a login server.

STEP 2 Make sure SSH is selected.
STEP 3 Enter the host name you used in STEP 1 in the box below Saved Sessions.
STEP 4 Click the Save button. The host name you entered should now appear below Default Settings. In the future, you will be able to connect by simply double-clicking this host name.
STEP 5 Click the Open button.
STEP 6 If you see a window like this:

click the Yes button.
STEP 5 When you see:
login as:
enter your CSE username.
STEP 6 When you see:
username@servername.cse.unsw.edu.aus password:
enter your CSE password.
