Recycling

Batteries

The following batteries can be accepted into the Universityn battery recycling program facilitated by the Stores:

  • NiCad
  • NiMH
  • Lithium Ion
  • Mercury button cells
  • Silver-Oxide button cells
  • Small lead-acid batteries

Simply come by the Stores office in the basement of K17 and bring your batteries for disposal with you. Please take note that the following items cannot be accepted:

  • Car batteries (large lead-acid)
  • Alkaline batteries
  • Carbon-Zinc batteries
Paper products

CSE recycles all sorts of paper products. Paper recycling bins (blue) can be found on all floors for paper sheets, magazines, shredded paper and any other small-sized paper products. Please endeavour to put only paper-based products into the paper recycling bins. Large cardboard boxes can be taken down to Stores for disposal.

Printer ink/toner cartridges

CSE also encourages toner cartridge recycling. To this end, the Stores accepts used printer cartridges from inkjet and laser printers. Though not all of the submitted cartridges may be recycled, every little bit helps. Bring any used ink or toner cartridge to the CSE Stores counter and we will gladly make the arrangements to have it collected by the relevant recycling organisation/s.
