2008 Internal Transfers For New Programs
CSE revised our postgraduate coursework programs for 2008.
A special arrangement has been made for our existing students to
transfer internally.
The internal transfer will be a one-off opportunity for 2008.
Students who do not take advantage of the internal transfer will
need to re-apply for the new program via UNSW Direct Admissions.
The new programs are as follows:
MCIT 8682 ------ > MIT 8543
GradDip 5432 ------ > GradDipIT 5543
GradCert 7342 ------ > GradCert 7543
The new MIT (8543) program is a 2 year full-time retraining degree
for graduates in Science or Engineering who have limited computing
experience.
The benefits of this new program are that there are no core courses.
Students may now choose which courses they want to take on the basis
of pre-requisite and specialisation requirements only.
Full credit for courses completed under the old programs will be
given when student apply via internal transfer.
MIT 8684 ------ > MEngSc 8538
GradCert 7344 ------ > GradCert 7338
The new MEngSc program is a 1.5 year full-time specialist degree for
high-performing graduates in Computer Science and Engineering. There
is only one specialisation in this program, as opposed to the 7 which
are currently available via the MIT program (8684)
The Information Technology/Computer Engineering specialisation in
the MEngSc program is aimed at students with a solid computing background,
who want to expand their technical skills and be exposed to the practice
of project management and quality principles.
The CSE Student Office have made arrangments for internal
transfers and further information will be emailed to students when the
system has been finalised. If you are interested please
fill an Internal Program Transfer and return it to the CSE
Student Office no later than 31 January 2008.
Students should carefully consider the new programs before applying,
and contact our office for advice or support.
