COMPAS5452 - Graduate Diploma in Computer Science

Students who are not eligible for entry to the Master of Computer Science or who wish to take a shorter postgraduate qualification may apply for the Graduate Diploma. The GradDip is a subset of the MCompSc, normally taken in 3 semesters full-time. It does not have the option of a project.

structure of courses

GradDip in CS students complete a program of 72uc of study. The program can be completed by undertaking 12 x 6uc courses.

Postgraduate courses in the School of Computer Science and Engineering are divided into four groups. Almost all courses are worth 6uc. The number of units of credit that must be taken from each group is given below.

A student may be allowed to take one postgraduate course from other schools with prior approval from the Postgraduate Enrolment Co-ordinator. The approved course will be counted as a free elective.

Students must check the units of credit of their electives before enrolment.

entry requirements

Candidates for admission to the GradDip should have a degree equivalent to an Australian standard Bachelors degree of at least 3 years in engineering or science or a degree with a mathematical component, with an average over the final two years of study at high credit level.
Entry to this program is quota based and is very competitive.
