Computing & Information Technology

Who are these programs most suited to?

The McompIT, GradDip and GradCert programs are intended for students with no or minimal prior computing background. Students with some computing background who want to obtain a broad understanding of computing might also find the program attractive.

The GradDip will be most attractive to those who are not eligible for direct admission to the MCompIT program, as well as those who are seeking a shorter qualification.

The GradCert in Computing is intended for students with no prior computing background, or those who are not eligible for direct entry to the GradDip program.

What have these programs been designed to deliver?

The aim of the McompIT and GradDip programs is to provide students with a broad-based IT education, enabling them to work in a range of positions in the IT industry. It is similar in scope to CSE's undergraduate BSc (Computer Science) program.

The aim of the certificate is to provide students with introductory level knowledge in this area that may be used to gain admission to the GradDip program or to compliment any informal education they may have acquired through work.
