Research CentresCentre for Advanced Software Engineering Research CAESER is the Centre for Advanced Software Engineering Research at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. It is formed from expertise developed within the School of Computer Science and Engineering and the School of Information Systems, Technology and Management. CAESER acts as a focus for software engineering research in Australia. It is an internationally linked Centre of Excellence in the collaborative advancement and practice of software engineering. We foster collaboration and cooperation between the University and industry in the scientific study of the software process and products. Our aim is to provide techniques for the improvement to existing process and products, an Australian research Centre concerned with software engineering, and expertise in the many areas of software engineering that attempt to improve the quality of the software process and product.
Smart Internet Technology Cooperative Research Centre
The School is a core partner of Smart Internet Technology Cooperative Research Centre, a consortium of leading university, industry, and government organisations. The centre conducts research combining Artificial Intelligence, Computer Networking and Social Interaction to create enabling technologies for smart internet applications. The centre is structured around five research programs: Natural Adapative User Interfaces, Smart Personal Assistants, Intelligent Environments, Smart Networking and User Environment. The research programs and the demonstrator projects encompass the underlying themes of Scalability, Human and Social Interaction, Security, Intelligent Agents, and Learning and Adaptation. The leaders of the Natural Adapative User Interfaces and Smart Personal Assistant programs are members of the school, and we also participate in the Intelligent Environments and Smart Networking research programs.
