ABSTRACT:

In this seminar, an overview is introduced about Active Contour Models
and Image Based Rendering, and my research result is introduced about
face extraction and facial image synthesis to generate new views.

BIOGRAPHY OF SPEAKER:

Byung-Hwan Jun is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer
Engineering, Graduate School, Kongju National University, Korea.
Byung-Hwan Jun was head of R&D Center at Moriah Technology Inc., Korea.
He completed his M.E. and Ph.D at Graduate School, Yonsei University,
Korea, in 1991 and 1996 respectively. He has been engaging in various
professional activities:
- 2003 Committee of Academic, The Institute of Electronics Engineers
of Korea(IEEK).
- 2000-2005 Manager of Cooperation, Regional Research Center at KNU.
- 2003-2004 Manager of Technical Interchange, Brain Korea 21 Team at KNU.

Byung-Hwan Jun has received numerous awards and honors, including
Who's Who in the World, Marquis Who's Who (2001) and 2000 Outstanding
Intellectuals of the 21st Century, International Biography Centre (2002).

His research interests include Computer vision, Virtual reality,
Ubiquitous computing, Culture restoration.
