Capability:

Software and hardware support for the design and use of reconfigurable hardware systems.

The group conducts research in the following areas:

  • theory of reconfiguration
  • problem solving with reconfigurable hardware
  • control and scheduling of run-time reconfigurable systems
  • languages for dynamic reconfiguration
  • CAD for dynamic reconfiguration
  • field-programmable chip design

Trackrecord (1997-2001)

Funding:

  • ARC Research Infrastructure, Equipment and Facilities Support (RIEFS) (with P. Eades and B. Beresford Smith) joint with Sydney VISLAB and NSWCPC Consortium $50,000
  • Reconfigurable Communication Networks, MRC - University of Newcastle $8,500pa
  • Newcastle University Reconfigurable Architecture, ARC Large project grant, $45,000pa, managed in its last year for A.Spray and H. Schroder and used to supervise a PhD candidate
