Exemption from Professional Development courses is the norm. In this case students select higher level courses.
A student must hold a Bachelor of Engineering from UNSW with at least Honours 2/2 (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline with a strong computing background;
or an equivalent qualification from another recognised university or tertiary institution in order to be admitted to the program;
or completion of Master of Engineering Science (COMPAS8538)
Students can apply to articulate from the Master of Engineering Science (8538) to the Masters of Engineering Science Extension (8539) provided they have a credit average (65WAM). Full credit will be granted.
Up to 24uc of Professional Development courses for computing graduates.
Students are permitted to substitute one, two, or four courses from their Engineering & Technical Management requirement with a project of equal value provided they meet the following criteria:
- Must be in final semester; and
- Have obtained agreement from a CSE academic supervisor; and
- Have maintained a distinction level performance in the program.
Projects are graded, and students deliver a seminar and submit a written report. More information is available in the Course Outline. Students should seek agreement from a supervisor prior to submitting a Project Nomination form to the Postgraduate Coordinator.
