Please take a few minutes to answer this questionnaire.
You need not answer every question, but we would appreciate it if you did.

The results
of this survey will be used to decide the structure of the workshop, and
will be summarized in the Workshop Notes.
Workshop programme
What are the three topics you would like addressed by the workshop
panels?
Is there a specific issue from your research that you would like to
discuss?
The role of empirical studies
What do you consider important research questions in your area? E.g. finding the best off-the-shelf learning technique, finding the easiest-to-customise CSP solver, ... finding the best general framework for Knowledge Acquisition, etc.
To what degree can and/or must these questions be answered by empirical studies?
Have you or others developed theory or made conceptual advances
as a result of your experimental
observations? (e.g. experiments suggested a theoretical conjecture that
was later proved)
Algorithms
What publically available algorithms do you use? (e.g. C4.5, FOIL, GSAT, Otter, ...)
Test problems
Which benchmark problems do you use? (e.g. UCI repository, ORLIB, TPTP, ...)
Do you use random problems? If so, how do you generate them; what properties do you want them to have?
(e.g. in the phase transition; random class distribution for learning, etc.)
Do you use real world problems? If so, where does your data come from? (e.g. industrial collaborator)
Is your research motivated by trying to solve a particular problem (e.g.
exam time-tabling) or by applying specific techniques (e.g. genetic
algorithms) to (potentially) a variety of
different problems?
