Research interests
I have a general interest in bioinformatics and computational biology, and the application of computational methods to the analysis of data in molecular and cell biology and immunology. Specific areas of interest include:
- Computational immunogenetics: development of methods to understand the process of generation of antibody diversity (collaboration with Andrew Collins). See iHMMune-Align, a hidden Markov model-based system for partitioning immunoglobulin heavy chain gene variable sequences and IgPdb, a database of recently identified IGH alleles.
- Gene regulation, gene regulatory networks
- Application of sequence analysis methods to problems in cell and molecular biology
