Research Topic: Low vision. I am studying the effect of visual function in retinitis pigmentosa (RP). RP is a hereditary genetic disorder of the heterogenus type. It involves the progressive loss of photoreceptors and retinal pigment epithelium function. These losses cause visual field constriction and end with tunnel vision. Since this condition is progressive, they will end up blind. How soon they go blind depends on what type of RP they have. I am also interested in children's vision and contact lenses.

What happens to the Outsider when contemporary thinkers call into question the very distinction between inside and outside; in other words, is it possible to be an Outsider in a postmodern world, and, if it is possible, in what sense?
