Ashwin developed an expert system that was capable of combining information from a number of satellite images of the same to produce a more accurate interpretation of the data than could be obtained from a single knowledge source. This system used a method of belief revision based on a technique I had previously developed for a DSTO contract. Ashwin went to the Turing Institute, Glasgow and the Computing Laboratory at Oxford University before moving to IBM Research in New Delhi.
