Transferring into COMP1711 when we are full

We accept transfers from COMP1011 for the first four weeks of session provided there are spaces in the subject and in a tutorial.

If COMP1711 is FULL we will still let you into 1711 but you have to be prepared to go thru some hoops. You need to:

  1. Email cs1711@cse.unsw.edu.au to let us know by the end of week 2,
  2. Attend all the 1711 lectures, and
  3. Attend all the 1711 tutorials and labs (in an unoffical capacity, but get marked on the roll)
  4. Sign and submit the "mad form" to your tutor.

"In an unofficial capacity" means you won't be on the official roll but ask the tutor if you can join in anyway and ask them to record your attendance and your labs marks. Each 1711 tutorial has spaces for at least one 1011 student.

There will be a small number of 1711 students who transfer over to 1011 in the first four weeks. So you should then be able to transfer yourself into 1711 online sometime before the end of week 4 (keep trying). If the subject is still full at the end of week 4 we will allow you to enrol regardless of the quota IF YOU SATISFY CONDITIONS 1-4 ABOVE. Email cs1711@cse.unsw.edu.au during week 4 to arrange this.

In all cases, if you wish to transfer into 1711, you MUST inform us by email before the end of week 4. We will close the subject off at the start of week 5.
