05/12 Results are now released. I've really enjoyed teaching you all, it has been a great session. Please do let me know when you are going to graduate, I'd love to attend your ceremony if I am around at that time. I was very pleased with your work this semester, and how much your thinking developed. I think more than any other offering i saw lots of exampes of people thinking like a security engineer. I feel that is the most important outcome of the course so am feeling very pleased. 04/12 We've published the course post mortem (linked below) please feel free to browse it and add any extra comments you wish (use the forum for that). 04/12 I was very sorry not to be able to come along to drinks on saturday - dot was sick fri and sat and we were all out of action dealing with that. 30/11 Post-crypto drinks at The Regent this Saturday evening (along Anzac Pde from Maccas). All staff and students are welcome to join us. From 7ish. 20/11 Scrapbook marks are now visible. The outline of the exam (including some visible bits) is in the "peek" link below. Make sure you check it out before the exam to see what the exam will look like and the special instructions etc etc. 20/11 Exam revision session is on today: k17 seminar room 5pm till ?? (we'll stay as long as you need us). From past experience these sessions are most useful when you have some specific questions to ask so try to think of some in advance. We are there to help you so think carefully about what help you would like. 17/11 REVISED EXAM DETAILS ATTN: Exam will start at 9:30AM, please arrive 15 mins or so early to make sure you are ready to be seated by then. There will be an optional Exam revision session on Monday starting 5pm. Location: k17 seminar room on level 1. Check back here for updates and changes on Monday. 01/11 Exam details are Friday 24/11 EE G25 9:30am-12:45pm Check back here from time to time and certainly before coming along to the exam, as location and/or time might be forced to change for some reason (not that we are expecting this to happen, but it IS possible so do check back). 01/11 This is also a reminder to check that your results are correctly recorded in the course database (use classrun -collect to verify). All marks other than scrapbook and exam marks will be entered by Monday week 15 and will locked in at the end of week 15 so do make sure you have sorted out any discrepancies with your tutor before then. Scrapbook marks will be entered by Monday week 16 and locked in at the end of week 16. 26/10 Friday W14 is *not* stuvac after all. Since we've already announced it as such, the week 14 lab will still be only for your own revision (unless you wish to count it for a lab mark), but tutorial attendance is compulsory. (see tutorial page for details) 25/10 The week 14 tute and lab will not be marked, since Friday is apparently stuvac. You should attend anyway - the tute will involve discussion of past exams. 19/10 Please return the blue firearms safety manuals to your tutor or at the next lecture. The small ones are out of print and we'd like future courses to learn from them as well. 09/10 There are some great new King of the Hill exercises set up for the final few weeks of session. Try them out! 05/10 The 2005 exam is linked below. 28/09 There's a new King of the Hill exercise out - details in the wiki. Don't forget to do the PKI lab over the break, it's due Wednesday week 10. Ruxcon is on this weekend; Richard and Alex will both be there. 19/09 We bumped the scrapbook marking back to week 10, so you have the holiday week to find lots of articles. The PKI lab will be released on the Monday of the holiday week, and the DOS lab on Monday October 2nd. 22/08 Don't forget (3441) your scrapbooks are due to be checked by your tutor in week 6 (and 9 and 13). Remember to vote for the seminars and labs on the forum. 09/08 Congratulations to those who have already made the Hall of Fame for solving parts of the Crypto Challenge. 27/07 Lab 02 is available. You'll need to create and log into your wiki account to see it, so email the class account if you have problems. Labs are due 10am on the Wednesday of each week. The week 2 tute is also out. 20/07 Crypto challenge! (link below). Test your wits against some easy and not-so-easy ciphers. 13/05 2005 web site now archived - you can access it from the 2005 link on the 2006 page. The 2006 site is currently just a copy of 2005.
