22 Jun  Reminder: the revision lecture is this afternoon.
        start time preferences seem split between 5 and 6 
        so i'll come along at 5pm and anyone who can't get 
        there until 6 dont worry we can do it again then 
        so you will be ok.  we will be in the school 
        seminar room (the big meeting room on level 1).

18 may  No lecture this week.  Instead spend that time doing the 
        practice exam linked from the course sechedule.  Seminar
        and tutorials are still on as usual.

06 Mar  Tute times are all working on myunsw now - and there 
        are still about 10 places left in 3441+9441.  Draft
        of the schedule is available (see link on homepage).
        There ARE tutorials in week 1.

02 Mar  There are no 3441/9441 scheduled activities in week 0.

02 Mar  You may have noticed we changed the weekly 2 hour supervised
        tute-labs into 1 hour tute-labs.  We also closed some of 
        the least popular time slot and opened new slots at the 
        most popular times.

However apparently the Centralised Timetabling department 
        have closed the old slots but not opened the new ones, and 
        doing so is currently near "the bottom of their list of 
        priorities".  I'm feeling as frustrated about this as I
        expect many of you are.

Here is what the every helpful Nick in the school office
        and I have arranged as an intermin measure so you can at
        least enrol and grab a tute slot:
         * We have re-opened the previously closed Wed 4-6 slot.
        Although the class is shown as 4-6 it will really only
        run for one hour, based on feedback so far probably the
        5-6 hour.
         * We have opened a dummy Friday 2-4 slot.  This is NOT
        really a Friday class.  It is how you register for the
        Tuesday 7-8pm class.  Tricky.... If you enrol in this class 
        we will somehow automagically put you into the Tuesday 
        7-8pm tute-lab class when someone gets around to creating 
        it.

13 Feb  Welcome to COMP 3441/9441!  Soon to be 
called 
        "Security Engineering".

I'll be slowly updating the site in the period before 
        session starts - you may want to check back from time 
        to time as I'm intending to post some interesting 
        reading for those keen to get started.
