Lecture videos on OK Labs GeekTV   (Posted by Gernot, Mon 15 March)
This is old, but apparently not well known: The initial three weeks worth of lectures were recorded in 2008. For some reason they don't seem to be on UNSW's youtube channel. So, while I generally avoid advertising for my company on uni web pages, enough people are interested to provide this link to OK Labs' GeekTV. Look for “Advanced OS”.

Survey results are up   (Posted by Gernot, Wed 9 December)
I've posted the uncensored survey results, as well as some comments on them, on the survey page. Many thanks to all who participated!

Marks are out   (Posted by Gernot, Mon 30 November)
Congratulations Rupert on topping the class!

Exam set up   (Posted by Gernot, Mon 9 November)
The exam specs are set up (same as last year). The actual papers to review will be available 12:00 (noon) on Tue, 10 Nov 2009.

Lecturer surveys posted   (Posted by Gernot, Sat 31 October)
I've posted my personal (lecturer) CATEI results on my web site. Shame the return rate was only 35%...
As soon as I get around to it I'll set up a more detailed survey (as in previous years).

Slug return   (Posted by Nicholas, 24 October 2009)
I will be in the Oud lab to collect lab kits this Wednesday, October 28th, at 2pm. If you can't make it to Oud on Wednesday, send email (nfd@cse) to arrange an alternative time.

Exam Time: 12:00 (noon) Tue Nov 10 - 12:00 (noon) Wed Nov 11   (Posted by Kevin, 11 October 2009)

Due to machine upgrades in pipe, this Friday's project demonstrations will take place in the spoons lab.

Course stats   (Posted by gernot, 1 September 2009)
I've collected a few statistics about the course you might find interesting...

Week 4 Lecture - change of venue   (Posted by kevine, 6 August, 2009)
The week 4 lecture on the Fri 14th of August will be in ASBUS 205 (Australian School of Business). This is a one-off move for week 4 only.

Week 1 Lab - change of venue   (Posted by kevine, 21 July, 2009)
We will have a week 1 lab on Friday at 1pm - the lab will hand out the equipment for the course. The lab will be in the Pipe lab in K17.

Reminder: First lecture and its location   (Posted by kevine, 17 Jul)
The first (and subsequent) lectures will be on Friday 14:00 – 17:00, starting on the 24th July.

The lecture venue is the NICTA Seminar Room West, on Level 1 of the NICTA building, 223 Anzac Pde (Building L5). Enter via the big stairs and turn left.

About next Friday's Lab   (Posted by kevine, 17 July)
In the lab on Fri 24th July, we'll hand out the lab kits (slugs) and get you going on the project. It's essential that you get there, not only to get your kit, but also to ensure that you can get going on the project without problems. You'll need that, as the first milestone is due a week later (i.e. in week 2).

The first milestone (m0) will be done and demonstrated individually, but right after that you should team up in pairs for m1 and the rest of the project. So I recommend that you use the opportunity of the Week-1 lab to find a partner.

Web site live!   (Posted by kevine, 17 July, 2009)
The 2009 COMP9242 web site is now live. Please notify us if you find some information still left over from last year.
