Congratulations Anna on topping the class!
Updated stats are available.

Exam sample solutions   (Posted by gernot, Wed 10 Nov)
I posted commented sample solutions to the exam.

Exam preparation in Week-12 lecture   (Posted by gernot, Sun 26 Sep)
I will use part of the lecture in week 12 to analyse with the whole class a research paper, in order to prepare you for the exam. This is to help you understand how to approach the analysis of a research paper.
It is important that you prepare for this. If you fail to do this preparation, the discussion in the lecture will be mostly ineffective, and you'll be on your own getting ready for the exam.

Milestone demonstrations   (Posted by justinkl, 17 August)
The consult for Wed 18 Aug has been cancelled. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Milestone demonstrations   (Posted by justinkl, 26 July)
There appears to have been some confusion regarding milestone demo times. These are to occur on Mondays from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, as agreed in the first lecture.

More toolchains   (Posted by justinkl, 23 July)
More pre-built toolchains are available, for Ubuntu 10.04 x86, and Ubuntu 9.10 x86. Once again, these should be path-independent.

Build system fixed   (Posted by justinkl, 23 July)
The buildsystem has been ported to python2.5/2.6, and thus will run on Ubuntu 10.04 (which annihilated all versions pre-2.6). Please pull from the central repo and merge into your source trees. Note, this breaks compatibility with python2.4.
Additionally, there is now a prebuilt cross-compiler toolchain available for Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64. Unzip it where you like -- it should be path-independent.

Submission of m0   (Posted by justinkl, 21 July)
Milestone 0 submission should now work. Apologies for the delay.

Developing on a Mac   (Posted by justinkl, 20 July)
Instructions for developing on a Mac are currently broken, in particular the OSXCrossToolBuild script. Working on a fix; if you're enterprising and find one yourself, feel free to let us know!

Reminder: First lecture and its location   (Posted by kevine, 19 Jul)
The first lecture will be on Monday 12:00 – 15:00, on the 19th July.

The lecture venue is the NICTA Seminar Room West, on Level 1 of the NICTA building, 223 Anzac Pde (Building L5). See here for directions .

About Monday's Lab   (Posted by kevine, 19 July)
In the lab on Mon 19th July, we'll hand out the lab kits (slugs) and get you going on the project. It's essential that you get there, not only to get your kit, but also to ensure that you can get going on the project without problems. You'll need that, as the first milestone is due a week later (i.e. in week 2).

The first milestone (m0) will be done and demonstrated individually, but right after that you should team up in pairs for m1 and the rest of the project. So I recommend that you use the opportunity of the Week-1 lab to find a partner.
