Announcements for 2009s2
- 6 November 09: A student has pointed out an error in the solutions to the quiz on tensor product networks. This has now been fixed. The change is that it now says HHT = nIn (change highlighted in red).
- 23 October 09: kohonen assignment results now available - do ~cs9444/bin/classrun -sturec
to find out your mark. To collect your marked assignment, visit me during my consulting hours.
The mark distribution can be viewed here.
- 20 October 09: Bill's consultation for Wednesday 21 October is postponed
and will now take place at 2.30pm-3.30pm on that day.
- 16 October 09:
- last night's lecture is now available on Lectopia/iLecture:
click on Lectopia link in menu at left, then click on "last".
- A revised set of sample solutions from Bill's part of last night
can be found at
http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~billw/cs9444/sample-exam/sample-soln-10s2.pdf .
The revisions include corrections that Bill mentioned last night, and one
that he didn't - there needed to be a factor of ¼ inserted into the solution
to question 12(b).
- 9 October 09:
- last night's lecture is now available on Lectopia/iLecture:
click on Lectopia link in menu at left, then click on "last".
- The week 12 lecture will be revision. In Bill's case, the revision will
take the form of going through the solutions to the sample exam - the
part relating to his material.
- Note that Bill's consultation times for the day before the final exam
are now posted: click on "Consultations" in the green menu at left.
- 8 October 09: wow assignment results now available - do ~cs9444/bin/classrun -collect wow
The mark distribution can be viewed here.
- 5 October 09: Sample exam material on Bill's lectures is now available by following
the week 12 links at
http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~cs9444/intro2009s2-WebCMS.html#schedule.
- 2 October 09 @ 5.30pm: Lectopia fixed, 1 Oct lectures now available.
Mark Distribution Statistics for the
SVM assignment are now available.
- 2 October 09: Lectopia seems to be out of order at present, so I have not been
able to do anything about the Lectopia recording of last night's lecture (if
they even made one). I have reported the problem to UNSW's IT Service Centre,
and have received what looks very much like an automated reply.
- 25 September 09: The Lectopia recording of last night's lecture is now available. Same link as last week.
There were some errors on page 28 of last night's lecture notes. These
have been corrected on the lecture notes site (see link in green strip at
left). Rather than re-download all 2.8Mb, you might prefer to download
just
page 28 (180Kb). This has the added advantage that the changes have been
highlighted in yellow.
- 18 September 09: The Lectopia recording of last night's lecture is at:
http://lectopia.elearning.unsw.edu.au/ilectures/ilectures.lasso?ut=1487.
Go to the last page of the Lectopia listing to find last night's lecture.
Lectopia can also be found in the green menu strip at left.
- 13 September 09: There will be special consultation hour for assignment 2 and other questions you might have by Achim on Monday 14 September 2009 at 1-2pm in K17-406.
- 4 September 09:
- Mark Distribution Statistics for the
backprop assignment are now available.
- The lectopia recording of last night's lecture is at:
http://lectopia.elearning.unsw.edu.au/ilectures/ilectures.lasso?ut=1487.
Go to page 2 of the lectopia listing to find last night's lecture.
- 3 September 09: The
simple
recurrent networks assignment specification is now available in case
anybody wants to preview it. Much of the material on which this assignment
depends will be covered in tonight's lectures.
- 13 July 09: the Course intro is now updated for the 2009 s2 offering.
Announcements for 2008s2
- 19 November 2008: provisional results in COMP9844/9444 released -
check your email for instructions on how to access yours; the value of
"delta" used in computing the final marks was 3.377 - see assessment
section of Course Intro. Results statistics are below.
- 21 October 2008: pre-exam consultations now scheduled
- 20 October 2008: Bill's sample exam solutions (= lecture notes for Bill's
part of the week 12 lecture) are now available in the Lecture Notes part
of the class home page.
- 17 October 2008: Exam information
| Course | Date/Time | Location |
| COMP9444 Neural Networks | Tue 11/11 8:45-12:00 | R-LOWERTEA |
| COMP9844 Extended Neural Networks | Tue 11/11 8:45-12:00 | K17-B02 |
- 25 September 2008: in case you missed Tuesday night's lecture,
the final two assignments are now both available on-line, at
http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~cs9444/assigns/2008s2/wow and
http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~cs9444/assigns/2008s2/kohonen.
I'll be away over the break, so if you have any questions,
better ask them now - BillW
- 9 September 2008: draft version of the
srn assignment is now
available - check link in Lecture Notes table.
- 27 July 2008: most stuff should now be up-to-date, but some links to
e.g. lecture notes will not yet work.
- 21 May 2008: The class web pages for 2008s2 are still under construction.
They will generally give a good indication of what will happen in
2008s2, but should not be relied upon unless they are marked in some way as
updated for 2008s2. In particular, they have not
yet been updated to take into account the 12-week semester, and, as
COMP9844 Extended Neural Networks is being offered for the first time
in 2008s2, material on COMP9844 will initially be light to non-existent.
- Mark distribution statistics 2008s2
