Who should take this course?

Anyone who has an interest in security and who is prepared to work HARD and under their own self supervision. We do not hold your hand in this course.

How do lectures work?

We'll have weekly lectures Tuesday evenings weeks 1-6, plus weeks 10 and 12.

We record the lectures, sit out of sight or let us know immediately after the lecture if you need to be removed. otherwise we'll take that as consent to be recorded and published.

How does the MOOC and lecture recordings work?

There is a MOOC corresponding to most of the material of this course. It will be appearing gradually over the semester. Use it to help yourself study. It will not be finished by the end of the course but we hope you will find it helpful.

What is the assessment?

20%Wargames spread over the entire course.
20%Two fuzzing assignments worth 10% each, to be done in teams of up to 4.
(you can arrange to do them solo if you are a working postgrad and if you can convince Brendan that is for the best)
10%Assignment 1 - released week 3 due Friday week 8.
10%Assignment 2 - released week 6 due Friday week 11.
60%Final Practical Exam.
