Folks, 

The Haskell report is out of print at Glasgow (though Yale still have
copies).  This seems like a good moment to produce a new clean version
with bugs fixed.

I have agreed to edit this revision, massively supported by Will Partain
here at Glasgow, Joe Fasel who is handling the Prelude, and the Yale
crew who are the syntax wizards.  

This is not a major language change! The emphasis is on fixing typos in the
report and *bugs* in the language.

This message is just to
	
	(a) announce that this revision is going on

	(b) say that I'll send a summary of any substantive proposed changes
		to the mailing list

	(c) ask your help in alerting me to any things you think
		should be changed, and in debugging proposed fixes.
