Gads!!  A lot of syntax debates are going on...

Suggestion: If your message to this mailing list is only about syntax,
please put SYNTAX ONLY as the first line and/or in the subject line so
that people uninterested in these discussions can quickly skip over them.
There have been other interesting discussions on this mailing list, and
I'm sure there will be more, so I don't want to scare people away because
of infatuations with syntax!!
