Co-hosted by the UNSW School of Computer Science and Engineering
The advent of the data exchange format XML and its wide acceptance is changing the structure of the Web; it is offering many new challenges and possibilities. In this talk we discuss the nature of XML, its data models, relevant typing formalisms, and how XML data can be processed. Particular emphasis is given to the type checking problem of XML transformations, and to the problem of representing efficiently in memory the contents of an XML document.
