Girish Revadigar

Girish Revadigar is currently pursuing Ph.D in Computer Science and Engineering under the guidance of Prof. Sanjay Jha at Networked Systems and Security Group (NetSys) and Prof. Aruna Seneviratne, Data61|CSIRO (previously known as National ICT Australia). Girish is also associated with Cyber Security and Privacy Laboratory (CySPri) at UNSW Australia and Mobile Systems and Research Group (MSRG), Data61|CSIRO.

Girish completed Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Industrial Electronics in June-2007 with First Class Distinction and secured 2nd Rank in University Exam from SJCE, Mysore, India. He has obtained Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electronics and Communication (E&C) in June-2004 from STJIT, Ranebennur, India.

During postgraduation, Girish joined AllGo Embedded Systems, India, as a Trainee Engineer in Sep 2006. After completing M.Tech, he worked for AllGo Embedded Systems as a Software Engineer from June 2007 to March 2011, and was promoted to Senior Software Engineer in April 2011. Girish has worked in the field of design and development of Embedded Systems, Automotive Infotainment Solutions and Wireless technologies. He has successfully lead the team, contributed and provided onsite integration support to various projects with major global IT companies like Freescale, Honda R&D, Denso, Visteon, Broadcom, Honeywell, Texas Instruments and Motorola.

During the tenure at AllGo, Girish also worked as an external guide/supervisor for AllGo sponsored academic projects at top Institutions in India like IISC, IIT and SJCE. He was the mentor for new joiners and conducted workshops and corporate training program on Android platform.

After serving for more than 6 years in Industry, Girish opted to pursue research in wireless networking and joined NetSys in August 2013.

HLF is a networking event for mathematicians and computer scientists where the laureates of the most prestigious prizes engage in cross-generational scientific dialog with young researchers from all over the world for one week. I have been selected as one of the only top 200 most qualified young researchers by the Scientific Committee of HLF to participate in the 4th HLF, to be held in Heidelberg, Germany in September 2016.

  • People's Choice Best Project Demonstration Award, PerCom 2016
  • Our project, "Location Fingerprint Evidence and Authorisation using WiFi Channel Characteristics", Chitra Javali, Girish Revadigar, Daniel Pletea and Sanjay Jha, won the People's Choice Best Project Demonstration Award at the 14th IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communications (PerCom), Sydney, Australia, March 2016.

  • Winner of NASSCOM Highly Commended IT Innovation Award 2015, for the research project "Ultra-lightweight Security Mechanisms for Wearable Devices" by Girish Revadigar and Chitra Javali. The competition was open for students studying PhD, Masters, Bachelors or undergraduate degrees from ICT/Engineering faculties in Universities across Australia.
