CSE account
If you are enrolled in a CSE course, a CSE account will be created for you.
This account will give you login access to CSE computers and secured CSE websites.
Your account will be created at least one week before the start of session
and will continue to exist until such time as you are not enrolled in any CSE course or program.
You can activate your new account by following the instructions below.
How to activate your CSE account in a CSE lab
- Bring your studentID and unipass.
- Log onto one of the computers in a CSE linux lab

Username: newuser
(no password required)
- A browser displaying the Yellow Form will appear.
- Read the Yellow Form carefully. Don't just acknowledge without reading,
because you are legally bound by the terms.
At the end of the page, press the button "ACCEPT YELLOW FORM AND ACTIVATE ACCOUNT"
- An authentication window will appear. Enter the following:
Username: your UNSW loginID
Password: your unipass
(Your UNSW loginID is "z" followed by your studentID e.g. z3126789, as you use with myUNSW)
- Next, you will see a page displaying your UNSW loginID, CSE username and the Yellow Form link.
At the end of the page, press the button "I accept the Yellow Form Conditions"
- Your CSE username is a mix of letters and numbers e.g. abcd123
Write down your CSE username on a piece of paper.
- After you have accepted the Yellow Form, type your date of birth e.g. 27/06/88 and your password twice.
You choose the password, but it must be obscure (no ordinary words are allowed).
Remember this password.
- Press the button "Set my password and enable my account"
- "Click here to Exit" at the top.
- Wait 10 minutes and then log on using your CSE username.
