Security Camera Information
In response to developing concerns over the safety of all students and to
reduce the incidence of theft, the School of Computer Science and
Engineering is further upgrading its security infrastructure. Surveillance
cameras and three security Help Points have been installed.
The following laboratories/locations have been fitted with video surveillance equipment:
- Moog
- Bell
- Leaf
- Spoons
- Bugle
- Pipe
- Banjo
- Oud
- Lyre
- HCI
- Clavier
- Organ
- Piano
- Drum
- Tuba
- Oboe
- Harp
- K17 Basement
These cameras are clearly visible upon entering the laboratories.
Signage has been erected in all areas where a camera has been installed.
In addition, the school has employed UNSW security to install three Help
Points in the following locations:
- Mechanical Engineering foyer, outside the CSE Help Desk.
- Mechanical Engineering Eatery Foyer, outside Pipe and Bugle labs.
- K17 Ground Floor Foyer.
These Help Points with cameras which will relay video images
to UNSW security once engaged.
The installation of the cameras and Help Points in CSE provide students
with a safer study environment, and will also safeguard the equipment in the
laboratories against theft.
