Annual General Meeting (2007-08-21) |
Have YOU ever wanted to run a society? Here's YOUR chance! At the AGM, an election of a fresh executive for late 2007 - mid 2008 (to match the US academic calendar) will be held after a presentation by the outgoing executive. All CSE and EE students (yes, you!) are invited to come even if you aren't running for a position. The AGM is run in a fairly informal and relaxed fashion so don't be afraid to come!
Date: Next Tuesday (Week 5), 2007-08-21 Running a society is rewarding activity that also builds your communication, teamwork and leadership skills - qualities that employers look out for. This year, the IEEE UNSW Student Branch, ran several events ranging from a study skills seminar to a DVD night. So you'll have plenty of support through mentoring by the experienced outgoing executive. So if you're a computing or electrical student and are motivated to make a difference, you can run for one or more of the following open positions:
To nominate yourself in advance, simply email ieee.exec AT cse.unsw.edu.au. You can also nominate yourself at the AGM. At the AGM, you'll be given an opportunity to speak -- if you wish -- about how you plan to contribute to the student branch, after which voting commences. |
