If you're wondering about industrial training or what it's really like to work in industry, then don't miss this must-see event!

Industry Day is a great opportunity for students from any faculty to learn about the benefits of industrial placements, how to get them and what positions are currently open.

Peter Ho - CSE Industrial Training Coordinator

Students enrolled in Engineering are aware of the requirement to undertake 60 days of paid Industrial Training before they can graduate. This requirement provides a great opportunity for students to learn about the industry, to establish important contacts and to experience in real terms what it is like to work in your chosen profession.

Matt Forgie - Cisco Systems

Cisco Systems is the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet. Cisco solutions are the networking foundations for service providers, small to medium business and enterprise customers which includes corporations, government agencies, utilities and educational institutions.

Matt Forgie is a computer science and electrical engineering graduate from UNSW.

Gernot Heiser - ERTOS, NICTA / Open Kernel Labs

Open Kernel Labs (OK) develops and markets cutting-edge operating-systems and virtualization technology for next-generation embedded systems. The company's OKL4 system has been adopted by wireless chipset maker Qualcomm and a number of mobile-phone companies, and is also being deployed in other industry sectors. It is estimated that the software powers at least 20 million mobile phones at present, and hundreds of millions within about a year.

Gernot Heiser is the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Open Kernel Labs and the leader of the Embedded, Real-Time and Operating Systems Research Program at NICTA and Professor of Operating Systems at UNSW.

Aswin Andrison - IBM

IBM Australia is a leading supplier of information technology, software and services in Australia.

Our focus is on helping customers of all sizes to adapt and prosper in the online world. Our extensive range of products and services help organisations to take advantage of new opportunities presented by Internet-based technologies, building on their existing technology investments.

Aswin Andrison is a consultant in the Global Business Services division of IBM and a UNSW computer science and chemical engineering graduate.

Peter Pychtin - Northeast Quadrant Consulting

Andy Duckett - Real Time Australia

Real Time is an IT recruitment company and are preferred suppliers to many of the world's largest employers as well as to some of the most innovative and boutique companies within Australia.

Our portfolio consists of, but is not limited to companies such as, Deutsche Bank, Macquarie Bank, Optus, Alcatel, Oakton Consulting, Atlassian and Google.

Andy Duckett is the Delivery Manager at Real Time Australia.

S2F is an organisation dedicated to the delivery of design services to controlled environment industries, focussing on pharmaceutical and high technology manufacturing, research and development laboratories, and the commercial and healthcare sectors.

Luis Martinez is the Deputy Operations Manager, New South Wales.

Jill McAlister - UNSW Careers and Employment

UNSW Careers and Employment provides free services to assist students in the development of career management skills. Careers and Employment regularly runs workshops and individual assistance sessions.

Jill McAlister is a Psychologist and Career Consultant with over 10 years experience providing vocational guidance and career counselling to individuals and groups in a variety of settings, including university, private practice and to organisations.
