FAQ: Errors

iHMMune-align says that I haven't provided an input sequence, but I have?

Ensure that the radio button next to either the text input or the file input has been selected correctly.

Why could the file not be created on the server?

Please ensure that there are no unusual characters in the file name. The following characters could cause problems: *, >, <, *, ?, |, /, \, @, $, #, !. It is best to ensure that filenames contain only letters and numbers.

What is the maximum file size?

Each file uploaded to the server cannot be larger than 2Mb. This includes files containing the sequences and any custom files that are being submitted to iHMMune-align such as repertoire files.

Why is there 'iHMMune-align raw output' provided?

The messages that iHMMune-align would normally print out as part of it's execution are provided when an error has occured in the execution of the program. Within this output there are usually error messages that can point to the exact error that has occured.

I don't get the partitioning result that I expected using iHMMune-align?

The iHMMune-align algorithm takes a different approach to partitioning of IGH human sequences and is still under development. The nature of the HMM, as it is currently implemented, does not handle sequences with 'unusual' features very well as yet. We are constantly working to improve the algorithm such as including better handling of partial sequences, improved modelling of exonuclease removals and the modelling of gaps within the V-REGION. Please feel free to contact either Andrew Collins or Katherine Jackson if you wish to discuss a particular issue.
