I've been skateboarding for more than half my life. That's a long time. Unfortuantely I'm not as good as I should be for that much experience. Nevertheless it remains fun and a big part of my life.
Now that I live in Australia (where it is warm and close to the sea) I have also picked up surfing. Surfing takes a while to learn, so I'm not very good yet. But I try to go out every weekend - mostly to Manly or the other northern beaches.
I used to be in a band. We were really good. Honestly. I would put up MP3s to prove it but, ummm, I lost them, ... yeah, I lost them. sorry. Here are some pictures of us practicing. You can tell just by looking at us that we are real good.
Although mostly I listen to harcdcore punk.
Together with Sally and Elisabeth I finished making a short film called Rival Colours. It was a fun experience, but the result is less magnificent than we had expected when we started on the project. We should have handled things differently, I realise that now. Nevertheless, we entered the film in a festival, but didn't do too well.
We've learned a lot through this experience and I'm sure that someday we'll make another film. One that will be better because of all the lessons we've learned while making this one.
I like to rock climb. Seeing's how there are no mountains or big rocks in the Netherlands this has mostly been indoor rock climbing (however, now that I am in Australia I should change this). I have gone bouldering at Fontainebleau (France) a couple of times. That rocked!.
Despite the presence of good climbing areas I don't climb very much in Australia.
